In Home Social Support


What are the aims of the service?:
    - To provide companionship for people who live on their own
    - To enable them to participate in community life and meet their need for social contact
    - To help them remain living independently in their own homes
    - To reduce social isolation and to enhance their quality of life
    - To provide a flexible service that caters for their needs

Who can refer to the service?:
Anyone can refer to the service, including clients themselves.

When does the service operate?:
The service operates on Mondays and Fridays from 9am to 5pm.

What are the fees? :
A contribution of $2 per hour will be charged, however no client will be disadvantaged due to their inability to pay.

How will the volunteers/paid workers help?:
    - Friendly visits
    - Emotional support
    - Accompany the client to do the shopping, banking or pay bills
    - Individual transport to appointments
    - One-on-one support to attend a social activity
    - Culturally appropriate one-on-one activities
