Multicultural Youth Development Project

Do you want to:
    - Start a youth group? This could be a band, dance group, sports team or discussion group...
      it's up to you!
    - Write an article for a youth magazine?
    - Make a video documentary
    - Participate in forums where your opinions and ideas can be heard?

If so, read on!

The Multicultural Youth Development Officer can:
    - Help young people from culturally diverse backgrounds to develop funky, cool and fun
      activities and projects
    - Help you to form your own youth group, and support current youth groups
    - Provide information on all issues affecting CALD youth
    - Provide support and referral to other services as required
    - Link young people to other youth services
    - Deliver training to youth and mainstream services regarding CALD youth issues
    - Assist in developing local and regional events for youth people
    - Lobby government and non-government bodies on CALD youth issues
    - Advocate on behalf of CALD young people.

Exciting youth projects have included:
    - Multicultural Youth Conference
    - Magazine project
    - Casual Edge program
    - Harmony Day events and programs
    - Cross cultural training and development
    - Cultural cooking classes
    - Spiked drink campaign
    - Supporting local and regional festivals
